its been an exciting week here in sunny Ft worth. Why am I here?? well glad u asked! I'm at the texas housing authority convention!! I'm staying @ the omni hotel . go to omniftworthhotel.com & take the virtual tour this place is awesome!!!! there are valets& bell boys & security. beautiful rooms & flat screen tvs. whoo hoo!! played blackjack most of the night for each $500 in chips you have you get a raffle ticket. They'll draw tomorrow & someone will win MONEY!!! yeah not me! also have another drawing for $600 for attending the convention. well i'm tired& its12:30 am. night night

here we are in sunny hot san antone visiting with alicia. craig decided to take a couple of days "off" of his vacation. hes been off since the last week of june. its been a rreeaally long couple of weeks (for me that is!) he has been doing the ad on to the new house. hes adding 6ft X 14 ft . we started out spending 2 nights in new braunfels so I could go to a computer class for work. Craig got to lay around & rest all day friday which was great!! sat we came on to san antone & alicia took us to the shops @ la canterra which was nice. Last night we went to the paladium & saw ice age 3 in 3d @ the imax. we loved it!! it was so cute!!!gonna start home tomorrow I did get me a new phone. hAd to come down here to get it went to the AT&T store in abilene & they literally told me if I wasn't buying a 3 g or I phone i needed to go on line & get a "cheaper" phone. screw them!! the AT&T store down here were so nice I had a new phone in less than an hour! nothing fancy just a phone. well got to go

well here i am in beautimous San Antone here for a training seminar. it really was pretty driving down though. wild flowers & green stuff everywhere!
now for the good stuff. I didn't get to make the cross plains cook off this year.Elaine & i had a wedding sat. yep in the wind ~~~ & the rain outdoors. So mom Carol Brenda & Natalie & mac cooked. they won first in brisket & ribs & cobbler best in show (best camp site) and first in peoples choice. the guys just won friendliest cook. do i hear an awww for the guys??? nope didn't think so LOL. later ya'll

a good time was had by all who attended the hump blow out. we really good to see ya'll .Renee did you notice I didn't call you Mary? (well Maybe once) ( ps you lost some weight!) Karen your kids are growing to much!!! stop that!!!! Les once again you stressed way to much! Me & Mac enjoyed the heck out of our motel!! she went down sat am made us waffles & brought them up to the room!! wow!!!! we just lay ed around & vegged til sat night. then it hit the fan! I came out of the bathroom all comfy with my pahammys & that heifer had F A R T E D !!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! grown men would have cried with tears of JOY to have cleared the room (room hell !!) the hall!! like she did. my eyes teared up my nose burned & I beat her with a pillow!!!
I think all the little ones who came to the party had a wonderful time. all the little ones that is!!

track meet district

Monday was the district track meet for Mackie. She won first in the 200 meter,2nd in the 4oo & third in relay. not bad for her first year. We also had the easter bunny to my house . Yep he remembered Mac. He brought her 6 big eggs with skull & x bone socks & some candy. Woo Hoo it just got away from -me uh the BUNNY that easter was so close. oh well surprised her! Had my Bunco ladies over for bunco Tues. It has taken me a month & the hired help of a VERY exceptional house keeper to help me clean my house. I'm ready to show this puppy for sale!! Yep it's that clean!

this is Bugs he thinks he's a super cat cause he can make his eyes glow. yeah what ever most men "think" they have super powers! ALicia is gonna take a job in San Antone with girling pediatric clinic. They are gonna pay her what she asked for AND some xtra for relocation. needless to say she was excited. If you know Leslie's J then you've met Alicia. they talk just ALIKE oh yea til they run out of air & pass out. I call 'em both Alvin as in alv in & the chipmunks. Now imagine driving in a busy city with her & her excited. alrighty then! we are having a suprise b/d party for my friend Elaine sat. night hope she likes suprises!!!!

FYI* this is a picture of Brenda & my mom fixing to serve @ ZOPS last year. It's a huge cook out that raises money for the boys ranch here. Any way , its start of spring break for some people. My friend Alicia is starting to look for a new job. She is sick of Seminole Tx. If you want to know why, just look on a map~~ assend of everything nothing going on nothing to do & NO ONE to date! Yeah she's single. So we are going to Killeen Monday for interview #1 then on to San Marcos where Tues is #2. Then on to San Antone for # 3 & # 4. then home thursday. so i wont be around . Got me 3 new books to read so I'll stay busy! later!! Anybody know what's up with Julie's blog?? I sure miss it! Had some great sites & reciepes on it

well mister scardey cat is hiding again. no one knows why he just is. Got my wall paper picked out for the office , gonna be pretty! as soon as I figure out how to do it I'll let you know so you can go see it. Other than that not much happening. Have a HUGE range fire out south & east of Abilene. Thursday we had ash in the air looked like weak snow. Hey Les! it wasn't an orange day it was a ash day!!!LOL Its still burnin up & down those canyons. Theres also 1 north of us on the Nail ranch but I think its out or pretty near.

well as you can tell I've got help tonight. Aren't I special!!!took my mom to an orthopedic surgeon Monday & surgery will not help anything. There is too much damage already done. So they are going to do a nerve test in March & start some more aggressive therapy. It should help her live with the permanent loss & how to do certain Activities easier. okkkkay. other than that just working around here . A Friend came wed & Thurs to help draw out the kitchen in the new house, I've seen so much & have so many ideas they have run together! okay gotta go now more later~~~maybe!

catch up

ok time to catch up. all its been is dr's dr's & dr's. Mom had a MRI a few weeks ago & boy did she screw the pooch! There are 4 muscles holding your shoulder in place she 's torn 2 of those. 1 Has slid down some & is causing a slight bulge in her upper arm. the rotator cuff is torn in 2 places & the cup that holds the ball joint is torn. Dr E told her she has permanent loss but doesn't know how much yet. I really like this dr. he is not a proponent of surgery . He's been telling us that leaving the rotator cuff alone does more good than surgery. He is sending us to an ortho surgeon because it IS an option & he wants her to have all her options out there ON the table. haven't been there yet. am setting here watching it sleet. wonderful.
Other than that, its been quiet. gonna start getting ready for valentines day soon. gosh seems like there should be more but cain't think of it now. oh well maybe later!

well lets see, ~~~~ my mom fell DEC 4th @ her job & dislocated her shoulder. I went & got her & she's been with us ever since. On my b/d weekend we went to Fredericksburg & San Marcus shopping . Got the last of my xmas except for my favs( yep u know who you are ) delivered xmas flowers right up to xmas eve @ 2pm. Thanks mackie do! Santa brought me a rocker from the cracker barrel & all kinds of goodies. Then the 29th Mom & Me took Mac to fredericksburg to sight see. We went to the pioneer museum & out to LBJ's ranch & over to Johnson City to see his boyhood home Then we did the Nimitz & Pacific war museums. It was all awesome.Went to luchenbach & got Mac a tee & a hat. A palm straw hat with lacing around the brim. No Les, not frilly lace, sewing stitches round the brim looks good with her new boots.
Carol & I got mom a garvin so she wont get lost much (yea right!) any who I owe phone calls maybe this weekend?

terrible thursday

well we had some excitement Thursday night. I got a call from throckmorton hospital saying mom had fallen. wonderful. they needed her meds before they could give them to her. I told them I was @ least 20 min from her House & would have to call back. then DING a light went off . I called Scooter to go over there & bingo done deal. & I was on my way @ 845 pm. I could only drive 60 cause of all the deer & wild hogs but with the wind blowing, evidently they were laid up in the trees out of the wind. I got there around 10 & they had xrayed her dislocated shoulder & replaced it. She has a good goose egg on her head & rt knee. I went out & slept @ the house the caretakers use then brought her home Friday. She said she didn't know what happened she just was on the ground (1. It was really dark where she parked). thank goodness she was @ the hospital when she fell (2. oh yea AT the hospital) . anywho I cleaned out the computer room & we put a bed in there so I have company for a while. we go to her dr. monday thats all for now

went to the big city of Cisco to watch Mac & the girls get beat. Cisco girls have lots more experience. Plus they play smarter not harder. Didn't do a whole lot t-day. Mac & I went to the drive in thought we were gonna see Bolt & Hollywood chihuahua . wrong just 1 show so we saw Bolt . cute! then we went home & went to bed so we could get up @ 3am & be @ kohl's by 4am. All new experience for mac! then on to JCP Sears & Kirklands then home for a nap.hope ya'lls was good!

we went to Eastland Monday for our first ball game. the only difference between now & lil dribblers is that they are all tall now. everybody is afraid to shoot, & we HAVE to get 1more dribble in before we do anything else. So we loose the ball & the game 18-9. oh well first game & all. Oh the DRAMA OF IT ALL!!! THE WAILING & CRYING!!!!!!!! jes louise!! did meet Mac's boy friend he's a cutie . For now.

we finally got through decoratin for xmas. It only took 7 of us 6 hrs. but we had fun!! It is so pretty. PP cut out painted & glittered large music notes & trebles which we hung from the rafters in front of the windows. then they hung blue xmas balls @ different lengths from the ceiling all over the store. The xmas tree has blue balls notes ribbon bows & blue candy canes . I do believe E has some of the bestest friends. Mac was a big help uip & down the ladder & all around.
Too bad Chad & the boys didn't have as much fun. He took them to frontier tx but it did spook them oh well they got a souvenir with their refund!!!

well here we are @ the end of the week. I got all the fall & Halloween things put away @ the shop & have got the Xmas stuff out. Friends are coming from here & far to help decorate the shop for Xmas. we are going with a" Blues Xmas" .as in house of blues. gonna cut out music notes & signs & instruments & hang around. Blue & silver on the trees. got some blue lights. while Les is helpin me Chad is taking the rugrats to Frontier TX. It's really cool. Its holographic & some interactive stuff. hope the boys don't think its spooky! It's about the frontier days in west TX from Indians ,settlers, buffalo hunters, & soldiers. then they can go to the zoo if the wind dies down. anyway basketball starts mon with a game in eastland . will have more later.

don't know about ya'll but it was a llooonnggg week here. Had 3 funerals . & they were BIG . Me & PP & EH & my good Friend VG who pulls us out of the fire when Elaine can't work, worked Friday from around 3pm til 1 am doing flowers. Elaine was frantic cause she thought ( & me) that I had ordered way too may flowers. AHA!!!!! not to worry!!! Had to send Ben after flowers twice. Yep 2 x's. tired tired tired. so all I have done today is laundry & nap. so am keeping this short.

road trip

Mac & I went to see some friends this weekend. to bad honcho #1 was sick, but we had great fun anyway. we stayed @ the motel ate scampi friday night laughed & laughed . watched I love Lucy. went to see 2 bratty boys & the old folks. drove around ended up @ the Irving mall DILLARDS CLEARENCE SALE & started my xmas shopping so all was not lost!! we did have a great time except for someone farting in the car going home ( no not me!!) whew @ least I could roll down windowws! Have been busy taking down halloween stuff . Got to start digging out xmas stuff. Any volunteers to decorate the shop for xmas? need folks who take direction well. ok don't say I didnt ask!!!! well gotta go got a funeral this week .

for those of you who don't know, I have a 13 yr/old niece. We'll call her mac . Mac is into cross country running this yr. As a 7th grader , she's gonna run track & play basketball do tennis . uhhum lets see how the grades do. Any way her school (Hawley) came out to Baird last week to run the Jr high course @ the golf club. Its a mile & a quarter. There were 33 schools with OVER 500 kids there! Imagine the WORSE mall scene you can & double it! There were 190 running in her division & she came in 50Th . Out of 190 that ain't bad atall!! She placed 4th in the Hawley girls. They are supposed to be back in Baird Monday to run the high school course that's 2 miles. Rick (Her dad ) said when she came around the last curve & saw the finish line she really poured it on & started passin kids like the were walkin.
She finally got over missing homecoming this year. She went on vacation with her mom dad granny & uncle scooter. to Cancun . Yep . Did I mention it was also her 13th b/d??
Well I'm gonna go play Bunco for breast cancer Tues. Wish me luck! It's $15 a head & @ the civic center. Thats all I know. well later ya'll

well here goes nothing I am doing this under duress Les made me do it! as ya'll know I work @ a flower shop. I have done lots of arrangements but not "the big " one ie: the casket spray yea yea I know eeeewww! anywho I made my first one Saturday & the comments were favorable WHEW! This lady was a retired school teacher & a long time community person. So my friend Pat, who is the funeral directors wife , helped me. I put flowers in & she encouraged advised. worked pretty good too. Been readin about the godboys & their loony momma . Tell me she doesn't need to up her meds!!!! ok thats it. The one that forced me into this hasn't even put me on her friend's list go figure!
